Not. Yeraltı kompleksi Hitit Oteli bahçesinde ve özel mülkiyet durumundadır. Ancak önceden alınan izinle ziyaret edilebilir.

Hitit Hotel Underground Complex

On the rocky slope just behind İstiklal Street, an enormous underground system lies hidden, unnoticeable from outside. Made up of six interconnected rock-cut spaces, this complex has details that are feats of engineering. Its most impressive element is the giant sliding stone (tırhaz), 2.10 metres in diameter and weighing about 5 tonnes — a stone door that reveals the importance the settlement placed on defence. The complex also contains a 76-square-metre cistern still filled today with clear fresh water, and curious shaft systems providing passage between levels. These vertical lines, connecting both to the shelter above and the tunnels below, attest to the building's complex architecture.

Note. The underground complex lies within the grounds of the Hitit Hotel and is privately owned, but it can be visited with prior permission.
